They want an expert in manufacturing systems to answer the question “Is this a solid operation? Do they have good systems in place, or will I have to invest in new systems to make sure customer needs are met?”

An Overview of Process

The Operational Assessment occurs either during current production, new production or mid-cycle in a launch. The time spent varies per engagement. We may do a top level assessment which can take anywhere from one day to three; or a very detailed assessment which can take several weeks.

We look at everything that’s supposed to happen within a company, from order placement to fulfillment. We review how orders come in and get processed through the system, how they get put out to the floor for production, how production happens, and how the product gets shipped to customers.

This evaluation includes:

  • A review of program timing vs. customer requirements
  • Resource allocation review
  • Investment viability analysis
  • Analysis program status

Ultimately, BBK provides clients with an overall assessment of each function, as well as a list of recommendations for enhancing specific areas.

Further, our operational talent base enables us to assist in implementation and/or intervention, as needed.
